Shapes

The world around us is made up of many shapes. There are shapes that we use in art on flat surfaces . We learned about different 3D shapes. From the circle we learned about the cylinder shape, from triangle the pyramid, and the square we learned about the cube. We worked on an art project using different shapes a rectangle, triangle and circle we called, ‘small, medium, and large’.

Q is for Queen

Queens, kings, princes and princesses, this is a topic the Nursery friends love! In America we have a president called President Obama. In other countries, such as England they have a royal family. They have a Queen who is their leader. Their Queen’s name is Queen Elizabeth. Her job is to help her country, sometimes that means she helps making rules. We wrote some of the differences between a family of a queen and our own. Queens live in castles and sit in royal chairs called thrones. Respectfully when talking to a queen we call her, ‘your majesty’. The queen also has a royal treasure chest filled with different special items such as jewels and gold. We went searching for treasures and found quarters, they start with 'Q' too! We ended off the week having tea with the Queen, we graphed the ones that were our taste, it was a lovely party!
