Shapes

Picking up from last week we continued with shapes. Using different shaped stickers we practiced patterning and shapes creation. We read a book called ‘Shape by Shape’ on each page we discovered a new shape at the end of the story all the shapes turned into a giant dinosaur (which the children thought was incredible)! We created some beautiful art for our moms and dads for pta, can't wait for you all to see it! Our favorite part was baking cookies and shaping them!

Yud

Can you believe it, we got to the tenth letter of the Alef-Bet?! Yud is the smallest letter in the Alef-Bet and makes the same sound as the letter Y. We know so many Hebrew words and Yadayim is one of them. So when Morah asked the Nursery friends to show her their Yadayim all hands went up! To decorate the letter Yud we traced our Yad - hand.

R is for Rabbit

Pointy ears, lives in a burrow, munches on carrots... it has to be a rabbit! This week we enjoyed learning about the life of the rabbit. We learned another word that starts with 'R' - root. Root vegetables grow in the ground and the rabbit has to use his strong teeth to pull them out carrots and radishes are root veggies. It was interesting to learn that a rabbit has some similarities to a kangaroo. They both have really strong hind legs, it helps them hop real quick. However, the kangaroo has a long tail and the rabbit has a short furry one. When rabbits go out to eat usually one is on guard to make sure that they are safe. If the rabbit senses danger it will thump its hind legs signaling to the others. Rabbits use their hind legs to hop quickly. They usually are able to outrun their predators and hop straight into their burrow. We enjoyed hopping like rabbits, creating rabbit masks, and decorating rabbits out of different sized paper. Next week we will be learning the letter S, the topic we will be learning about is the... the SOLAR SYSTEM! We will be learning about it for the next two weeks. Can't wait to bring you back news from all the amazing planets out there!
